  • Undervalued

A term describing a financial instrument selling in the market for a price that is believed to be lower than its actual intrinsic value. Intrinsic value is the present value of the free cash flows that the company is expected to generate. To evaluate an undervalued stock, one can examine the company's underlying financial statements and analyse its condition to estimate the instrument's intrinsic value. On the other hand, a stock considered overvalued is priced higher in the market than its perceived value.
