The Twelfth Man: ICEA Premier League

Whenever the opportunity presents itself, we like to become involved with causes that align with our core beliefs. Whether it’s local charities or not-for-profit organisations serving those in need, we wish to recognise their effort and extend a helping hand. In this case, we uncovered a truly deserving group whose educational and consulting platform significantly impacts their community.

We've connected with a ‘direct hit,’ by proudly announcing our cooperation with a respected group of architects and cricketers. India, famous for legendary cricketers and success first-class matches, is also home to another distinguished field, the Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects (ICEA).

The ICEA, a non-profit body of practising architects, civil engineers, interior designers, and urban planners, was established in 1966, serves the city of Surat. From technical seminars and workshops to infrastructure development, the ICEA has made a tremendous impact within the local community. However, once a year they exchanged their craftmanship for sportsmanship on the cricket field.

This creative group helped establish the 'ICEA Premier League.' Now in its second year, the seven-night cricket tournament consists of six teams, boasting well over one hundred qualified players, and nearly 500 spectators at Maniba Cricket Ground, in Surat. With so many great teams eager to participate in this thrilling invitational, it was difficult to decide, but ultimately team Octa Indian landed our sponsorship.

Beginning in January 2020, Octa Indian started the invitational on fire, winning their first four matches, before stumbling by one wicket in their fifth match. Lead by Nikunj Thakor, Octa Indian finished the tournament with a record of five wins and three losses.

We are pleased to have been the twelfth man for team Octa Indian!
